Robert has completed filming on a 7 painting series of instructional oil painting DVD’s. These videos were filmed in Calgary at Swinton’s Art Supplies before a “Live Studio Audience”.
Attendees enjoyed watching these Friday Night Demonstrations, covering a wide variety of subject matter (including landscape mountains, forests, water, floral, and more).
The film footage is currently being edited into a series of 7 DVD’s (each with an average length of 90 minutes), as well as a 20 episode TV series version with episodes edited to approximately 27 minutes. Both the DVD series and the television series versions will carry the title “THE BIG PICTURE: Oil Painting with Robert E. Wood”.
This series has been a wonderful opportunity for interested people to watch one of Western Canada's top artists create 7 paintings, while sharing all of the knowledge he has accumulated throughout his 20 year professional career. The DVD’s will be released in Fall, 2010 and will be available through this site, Swinton’s Art Supplies in Calgary, and select other fine art galleries and retail establishments.
The series of original oil demonstration paintings created during this series will be available for sale at Robert’s upcoming one-man Exhibition & Sale of New Work at Gainsborough Galleries on November 19/20, 2010. This exhibition will also include the official release party for the DVD series.
